Pastor Alberta Abrams

Alberta Abrams is a longtime member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, having official joined more than 20 years ago in 1997 under the leadership of the church founder, the late Bishop Robert W. Jones. Now the Associate Pastor of the church, she first began her work at the church as Bishop Jones’ armor bearer and as president of the Usher Board. In addition to her current pastoral role, Minister Abrams is also the church treasurer and a well-studied teacher and prophetess. She remains an active member of the church choir, owing to her deeply held belief that: “The servant is not greater than his lord, neither is he that sent greater than he that sent him.” (John 13:16) Within the larger Syracuse City community Pastor Abrams has maintained a graduate nurse career that spans more than 18 years; and, she now operates as a private duty nurse. She views her professional experience in holistic nursing as not only complementary but also beneficial to her pastoral work, in that it aids her ability to care for, serve, and understand God’s people. A self-described “energetic, self-motivated, family-oriented, and adaptable servant of God in the Holy Ghost,” Pastor Abrams enjoys camping during summer months in Parish, NY, attending Syracuse University football games, and being a faithful Philadelphia Eagle’s fan! She is married to George Abrams, is the proud mother of four children, and blessed as well with nine wonderful grandchildren. One of her two favorite scriptures in the Bible is I Corinthians 13:13; it reads: “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” Her second most favored scripture is Deuteronomy 32:4, which assures that “He is the rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”
